The Hidden Beast

I sit here in a small room A room so small I feel the walls closing in Rain taps ever so slightly at the room’s only window I sit here and write my little poems and stories But even over the rain I can hear the noise, someone or something is there I know deep in my heart it is but every time I turn it’s gone I wish it had the courage to face me, but it keeps running away…
Unless that’s all in my head. Maybe there is nothing there,

Maybe the hot breath on my neck is just not real,
